Abstract

We conducted a theoretical study to calculate the structural, electronic, optical and magnetic properties of BrCdO2 within the framework of density function theory (DFT) and using the Wien2K program based on the method of linearly increasing plane waves (FP_LAPW), and this is based on both the generalized gradient approximation (GGA) and the modified approximation (mBJ). To calculate the link exchange latency. Regarding the structural properties, we determined the values of the network constant, compressibility coefficient and cohesion energy. To understand the electronic behavior of the compound, we calculated and analyzed the structure of the electronic energy bands and the total and partial electronic density of state (TDOS). On the other hand, we also studied the magnetic properties and the total and partial magnetic moments of the atoms that make up the compound. Finally, we calculated the optical properties by computing the real and imaginary parts of the dielectric function and subsequently deriving other optical parameters such as absorption, reflectivity coefficient, and optical conductivity
