This work considers the router node placement (RNP) for green wireless mesh networks (WMNs). The aim is to find the optimal positions of router nodes to provide the best network connectivity (the maximal number of connected routers) and coverage (maximal number of covered clients). To this end, we chose the Particle Swarm Optimization approach (PSO), but with combination with the Energy flow model. We studied and analyzed the performance of that combination with four essential parameters coverage, connectivity, fitness and number of routers. Experimental results show the quality of the proposed combination through sensitivity analysis, and also show that our proposed combination can adapt to the topology changes.en_US
