| dc.description.abstract | In this study, we examined the role of the PPDRI (Proximity Rural Development Projects) in revitalizing and enhancing local development in approximately 19 rural municipalities across three provinces: Bordj Bou Arréridj, Sétif, and Béjaïa, during the period from 2006 to 2014. We aimed to understand the various economic and social impacts that some of these projects, including the proposed Wadi Mahjar road construction project, could have. We then conducted a field analysis of this project using a set of indicators. Our findings revealed the significant importance and necessity of such projects for the local population. We concluded that the proposed project plays a substantial role in promoting local development in 19 or more municipalities. While it has the potential to achieve considerable economic and social benefits, these results do not meet the aspirations of the residents of these areas. Additionally, the scope of local projects has not reached the required level to address all their concerns and needs comprehensively. | |
