Abstract
Abstract
Building Information Modeling (BIM) can be defined as a digital representation
of the physical and functional characteristics of the facility, and therefore the BIM is a
source of information about the facility, capable of analysis, simulation and
measurement, which makes it a reliable guide for decision-making in all stages of the
facility (design - implementation - management And maintenance). A BIM approach
that increases productivity and efficiency, avoids human errors, coordinates
collaborative teamwork, and increases documentation accuracy.
In this thesis we have discussed the method and role of Scan to BIM through the
use of 3d scanners. Over the years, the 3D building laser scanner has become a tool of
choice for construction work. And part of the reason it has been so successful is its
many benefits. With 3D scanning, planning construction projects is easier.
Finally, 3D digitization facilitates the work of stakeholders (Architecture, civil
engineering, MEP (mechanical / electrical / sanitary)). They can work on a single
project (the digital model), although they are not all present on the site. From a
computer, everyone can modify the model to make various improvements.
