dc.description.abstract | Concern is growing daily about the dangers of the excessive use of traditional energy resources in conjunction with the exacerbation of global warming. Thus, it has become necessary to move towards the use of renewable and clean energy sources, but the development of renewable energy systems faster has been and continues to be a scientific and technological challenge. Among the renewable energy sources: Photovoltaic seems to be the most promising source. It has the advantage of being available everywhere, friendly to the environment and easily maintainable. On the other hand, the fuel cell is arguably the most environmentally friendly way to generate electrical energy today. Indeed, apart from electricity, the reaction between hydrogen and oxygen only produces water vapor. As such, the process does not in any case releases any greenhouse gas. However, the main drawbacks to these sources are the high manufacturing cost and non-linear characteristics, and thus the randomness of energy availability. To meet these challenges, sources hybridization and its optimization can demonstrate to be suitable approach for the design of efficient energy solutions. This thesis deals with the hybridization of two renewable energy sources and improving their performance. The hybrid system comprises photovoltaic solar panels and a fuel cell, in addition to battery, converter, electrolyzer and hydrogen tank to supply cell tower. The objective is to develop new control strategies to extract the maximum power available from the both sources PV/PEMFC and optimize the size of the hybrid system components. As results, some MPPT algorithms have been developed that have proven durability and robust performance under variable operating conditions to extract maximum power, while for second objective, optimization sizing of the hybrid system components have been done using HOMER software | en_US |
