dc.description.abstractarid and semi-arid regions, dams play an important role in the storage of surface water. However, the floods loaded with fine particles deposit their materials at the bottom of the dams, which reduces their lifespan, because the storage of the quantities of water in them decreases. These amounts of mud come from soil erosion and flooding that fills the dams with rainwater and fills them with mud (silt). Priority should be given to the maintenance of existing dams rather than the construction of new dams. This work is a study aimed at identifying three samples, two of which are of a clayey nature (silt) taken from two different areas of the El-ksob dam in the M’sila region, and the other of a rocky nature taken from the area of Mâadid region of M’sila. The objective of this study is to exploit these three types of materials by using them as additives in the preparation of composite materials. Characterization tests used: Hatterberg limit, plastic limit, liquid limit, fire loss, DRX and XPS. Mots clès : Hatterberg limit, plastic limit, liquid limit, silt, silicen_US
