The aim of this study is to provide a theoretical framework for the application of six sigma or six standard deviation (sigma) in hospitals, with the aim of reducing errors in their operations and improving the quality of health services provided by a series of continuous improvement models of health services, including the DAMIC model. The conclusions suggest that the Six Sigma application helps reduce the variation in operations to its lowest level, so that the quality will rise to the highest possible level, which will reduce the error rate to a high degree. Therefore, the Six Sigma should be considered in hospital institutions because of its importance in reducing medical errors and improving the quality of health services provided.en_US
