Abstract
This study aims to identify the right of peaceful assembly and to organize public
meetings in international legislation, the right of Jordanian citizens to peacefully
assemble and organize public meetings in the Jordanian legislation and of the
Jordanian Constitution of 1952 and its amendments, and the law of public meetings
, the study concluded that the Jordanian Constitution of 1952 and its amendments,
allowed the Jordanian citizen has the right to peaceful assembly and organizing
public meetings, but that the Constitution referred regulate the exercise of this right
to the law, and that the Jordanian public meetings law allowed for Jordanian citizens
the right to peaceful assembly and to organize public meetings and recommended
the study to amend the public meetings law No. 6 of 2004 and its amendments, and
define the powers of the governor and the granting of Jordanian citizens the right
to challenge the governor›s decision in the courts, and define the concept of the
general meeting and more accurately differentiate between it and other meetings, and giving political parties the right to organize public meetings as legal
