The Algerian legislator has worked on framing and supporting tourism investment through a set of laws and regulations. Upon reviewing the history of public and private investment in the tourism sector, it is clear that there has been a shift from partnership to privatization following Algeria's economic shift towards a market economy. This opened wide doors for private investment in the tourism sector and enhanced tourism development opportunities. Despite the substantial efforts made by the state to improve the tourism investment climate, challenges still hinder keeping up with global experiences in this field.
