Abstract
Our dissertation entitled "Poetics of the prisoner in The Night of Elie Wiesel and The Camp of Abdelhamid Benzine" aims to analyze the narration in the prison and to bring out the various facets of the scriptural act in a situation of confinement (in the case of our corpus this place is represented by concentration camps). We established a comparative study in order to identify the elements of similarities existing between the two stories: a simple narrative system and a classic schema of narration, the use of the irony to escape prison horror, the atrocious pressure that exercise the hangman and time on the prisoner and finally the speech and the acts of torture that testify to the suffering of the prisoners. Our study allowed us to show that the prison is a kind of sepulcher for the narrator, it takes away its identity, reason and religion.
