Abstract:
The field and laboratory work was initiated by the biology laboratory, which is concerned with the systematics of the Culicidae in the Bassada region The results obtained from this study showed the existence of 11 species in the studied area (Culiseta longiareolata, Culiseta subochrea, Culex pipiens, Culex deserticola, Culex theileri, Culex laticinctus, Culex brumpti, Culex perexiguus, Anopheles cinereus, Anophèles multicolor, Uranotaenia unguiculata). This inventory is supplemented by an ecological analysis concerning the structure and composition of these populations. n the second part of this work, we studied the toxicological impact of four plant extracts (Ruta chalepensis, Anagyris foetida, Nicotiana glauca and Cleome arabica) on Culiseta longiareolata. The four bio - pesticides tested yielded satisfactory results and appeared to be more active on larval stages. We determined different lethal and sublethal concentrations (LC 50, LC90).
